Every night more than 800,000,000 people go to bed hungry - if they have a bed to go to. Sixty years ago, the children’s aid organization Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, or NPH for short, was born in Mexico. Father William Wasson, an American priest, rescued a boy from a harsh prison sentence for stealing from the church poor box 'because he was hungry.' From that simple act of compassion grew an organization that now cares for orphaned, abandoned and poor children in nine Latin American countries.
