Eye of the Storm relives the night of the controversial execution of Stanley 'Tookie' Williams. On the night of December 13th, 2005, San Quentin Village was hit by a media storm generated by the coming execution of Crips co-founder Tookie Williams. The film's director, Kramer Herzog, is a resident of the viallage, and in return for the use of his property, the Fox Nation News crew granted Herzog permission to film and interact with them over the course of 24 hours leading up to the midnight execution. Through the interviews of neighbors, news producers, and protesters, along with raw footage on the scene, The Eye of the Storm offers a variety of perspectives on why such a destructive frenzy occurred, and whether or not it is a necessary part of free speech.
